Reminder: Passport Renewal

Passport

Big trip in the works? Worried about remembering to renew your passport? Simply don't know how?

Here's the quick and dirty.

If you've remembered six to eight weeks in advance that renewal is imminent, you can do it by mail! The United States Passport Service provides an entire breakdown of the process—complete with with links and a cheesy video—at this link.

If you're currently freaking out because this post has reminded you to check the expiration date on your little blue book and you see it's expired...never fear, this link has a breakdown of acceptable excuses for needing a renewal quick, fast and in a hurry, and gives you steps to make it happen.

Did you know that you can take your passport photo at a Walgreens? Well you can. In fact, there are many places that you can have an acceptable photo taken. I had my last one taken at my local community college. Here's a list of where you can go to get it done.

And finally, if you're a frequent, (and forgetful) traveler, set up a Nudgemail reminder—nine years from when you renew—so that you'll always be able to come and go as you please!
